I think some of the fans are sort of in denial about our midfield situation. We don't have the defensive work horses in midfield like Fanibho and our creative players like Eriksen had to suffer a bit as he's had to play deeper picking up the slack in midfield for our CMs but he's no deeper lying playmaker. He thrives in a more advaned role in front of CMs linking up the midfield with our attackers. If we had a midfield like yours Eriksen would have thrived more. It's bizzare that still our CMs are considered by some fans as our best and most important players when a majority of us also agree that we desperately need to improve our midfield. I guess the club skipping two windows does this to you. When we play poorly, it's guaranteed that our attackers get the most stick than other players, but without a quality midfield, attackers can't always perform up to their standards. The fact that our fullbacks barely provide anything going forward doesn't help things either.
