“The play style of the club” is just sort of code for picking a good team. For example I used to love the play style Liverpool had a few years ago when we just used to try and score more than we let in great attacking football but I don’t reckon we got many bandwagoners at that point because we weren’t winning. Bournemouth are another team that have been playing great football for ages but you don’t see many people “choose” them. Also the “philosophy” argument is also stupid. Most Barca “fans” who use that argument could point to Catalonia on the map and probably can’t speak a word. Also the amount of Anti English sentiment I’ve seen from Premier League flairs sort of proves they don’t care about their clubs origin or whatever.
