They looked better with VVD because he was a better player then what they had, just like we look better with Maguire then if we had Smalling and Jones together or Lindelof and Smalling together. He was an improvement so obviously they would improve just like if we signed a defender or even if Bailly came back into the team and showed the glimpses of what he could do, we as a team would be better.

If we take Maguire out of the team and replaces him with Rojo and then Lindelof with Jones, of course we would be worse.

I mean even with VVD they were leaking in goals as seen by the results they were getting, and are still leaking goals now which goes back to my first point Liverpool’s last min winners are actually disguising the amount of goals they are conceding.

That’s fair enough if you think he’s average and your opinion is totally valid, but let’s not forget that United have conceded 15 goals this season so far and Liverpool have conceded 11 and and we’ve both kept 2 clean sheets, for a team like Liverpool and VVD being so much better than Maguire we should be one of the lowest and Liverpool one of the highest but that’s just not true.

I’m sorry but people laugh at anyone that’s English and signed for a high price esp on Reddit. Sterling was laughed at, Ox was laughed at, Mings was laughed at, Walker was laughed at, the list goes on and on, and a player that comes to United as well, even more people will be laughing no matter who the player is esp if they are English. Just like if we signed Maddison people will laugh at that signing more then Felix signing for A Madrid.
