Daily Discussion for Coronavirus (COVID-19) - 17 April

I don't personally expect them to be lifted entirely for ages yet (probably not until we have a vaccination), but we clearly can't be locked down to our current extent for the next year and a half.

Take a look at what other countries are doing. They're not binning lockdown off completely, but they're easing restrictions gradually. Austria has opened more shops now. Spain and India are allowing more businesses to operate. Social distancing measures are kept in place in those countries, but things are shut down less.

So I reckon in another 3 weeks or so we'll probably see more shops opening, maybe being allowed to visit friends and family in smallish groups, things like that. Enough restrictions still to keep the NHS coping, but with more liberty so that we don't all go bonkers, and that the economy can start to pick up again.
