A weird (but predictable) trend I’m noticing is that quite a few people on enhanced unemployment in the U.S. are practically rooting for the pandemic to continue on for as long as possible, because they’re getting paid more to stay home and watch Netflix than what they get paid at work.

My mom’s in that boat, and she counters any piece of good news I share with a bad news rebuttal. She says she won’t go back to work until there’s a vaccine, no exceptions. She also says she’s not taking any vaccine in 2020, because if that occurs “it’s been rushed out and it’s not safe”.

They’re gonna have to raise the minimum wage after this. Big time.
