The online smash community has become insufferably dog shit about harassing people over the dumbest shit possible. My god the amount of people on Twitter or Reddit that have literally 0 empathy, compassion, or at this point common fucking decency.

Tournament chat is the sewage drain of it all too. You simply can not win a match in any way, shape, or form without doing something wrong in the opponents eyes. They could PICK your damn character for you and they’d still find some reason to call you carried and then a slur.

And I blame people like Epic Gabe or BroKen who unapologetically encourage that kind of behavior. “Competitive Shit talk” and “Literally just being an Asshole” have a very thick wall between them and yet somehow far too many Smash players with a Keyboard manage to find there way over it.
