Daily Discussion Thread 04/12/2017

Regardless of all the memes, circlejerking and shitposting and this subs tendency to ride a few artists' dicks a little too hard, there's still a lot of value in it and i really appreciate how much it's done for me in widening my knowledge base in a music genre I've been of a fan of my entire life. It's easy to get cynical about an online community and every now and then you'll see those 'this sub is going to shit' posts in the daily discussions but at the end of the day this a community of 500,000 hip hop fans and that's a pretty amazing thing. Most of us are good people who just want to consume and enjoy good music and that's the essence of what holds this community together. Never forget that.

Any fanbase of half a million people is ALWAYS going to be a mixed bag Especially when it's skewed towards beings a younger demographic (im 21 so this isnt coming from an ivory tower), but regardless, I'm excited to see it's continued growth. We've got a lot of fantastic music ahead of us and a wealth of past music to discuss and dissect and i look forward to every one of those discussions with yall. Another shout out to the mods for keeping this the best subreddit for all these years.
