Did heavy deadlifts today for 3 sets x 5 reps. First set was flawless; weight literally flew off the ground. So I decided to up the weight by 10 lbs. I rest a little and then attempt to get it up, but it doesn't even fucking move. I lower the weight to my starting weight but it still doesn't fucking move. I rest for 3 minutes and try again with my starting weight, still nothing. Rest another 5 minutes and try again, still nothing. Did that for a total of 4 freaking times.

I ended up lowering my starting weight by 20lbs. I got the weight off the ground very slowly and could only manage 3 reps. Third and final set I increased the weight by 10 lbs (so -10lbs starting weight) and I manage to get 4 reps. Horray?

No, not horray. What followed was one of the worst cramps I ever had. Literally thought about going home because I couldn't move. Still managed to finish my workout though.

Why the fuck are deadlifts so treacherous? I think I will spend the next few weeks doing high reps with low weights since my body is apparently very beat up.
