Back in 2015, I was listening to Hood Politics by Kendrick in the car. I was listening to it with some shitty apple earbuds and my mom must have been hearing it cuz she asked me "what are you listening to?". I was like "oh you know, the oldies". And she asked what I meant by that. I said "David Bowie". Then she asked "could I hear it". At that point I froze and was about to change the song but then she grabbed my earbud and put it in her ear. Her face turned to disgust and was like "delete that trash". And I was nervous as shit, but I still said no.

I dont really remember much after that, but she took my phone and showed my dad what type of music I was listening to. When I was confronted about it at dinner, they were all mad about it saying that this type of music is disgusting and will change my behavior. I was telling them that they didnt understand the context of the song, and to look up Kendricks lyrics. But they're fucking ignorant ass hats who dont listen to me. After a bunch of arguing and bickering, they gave me back my phone. They looked through all my texts and pictures and shit. That event didnt teach me shit. Im listening to hip hop more than ever now. Im also still bitter about the going through my texts thing, but theres some other stuff they've done since then that Im even more bitter about. Fucking asian and white parents
