I’m about 6 months into a production based role for a large financial company. I’m not exactly loving it as my team hasn’t had enough work since I’ve started.

Not having enough to do all day is killing me, but anytime I’ve asked for more or noticed a coworker ask for more we receive pointless busy work.

The office concept is very open so it would be hard for me to put my time to use learning something else without getting noticed.

This is just my 2nd job out of school (was at the 1st one for about 9 months) and it’s definitely not something I see myself doing long term. I don’t know if I should apply elsewhere as I don’t want to seem like a perennial job hopper but I’m not enjoying myself and not learning anything useful.

I’m not really sure if I’m asking for advice or just venting, but I’m bummed out about the whole situation.
