I have a paid off $2K beater that has 200K miles, its a compact car. I'm in my 30's, I've had comments from people with them saying that it looks like the it kind of car a 16 year old would drive. It doesn't look like the kind of car an adult would drive. Just a plethroa of negative comments. I was planning to keep the car until 300k miles. The comments have me second guessing if I should upgrade to something nicer which I've thought about a slightly used Camry, or avalon or something similar to those. I also thought about trying to get radar cruise control, power windows and locks (I currently have manual everything), abs, ect. So probably around $15K for a newer car. The only issue is my frugalness says hell no. But is it ridiculous I drive around in a 2k beater in my 30's? Am I failing at adulting? Because others seem to think so...
