One last comment as it sounds like it’s getting condescending and I bear no ill intent.

You mentioned you make 5-10x your coworkers. I’m going to guess you’re in a role where it’s obvious you’re the higher earner hence why there’s less of a need for “validation.” In my SWE reference, which is a profession notorious for high earning, there is no need for SWE to “prove” their success superficially in the way that conforms with the general societal views of “success.” As opposed to someone say that flips burgers and drives a beat up car. The latter would usually be perceived to be less successful professionally and financially, per society standards. The SWE can drive a beat up car and people will think it’s by choice but hard pressed to believe the same thing for the burger flipper.
