Daily General Discussion - March 12, 2019

The times when I feel most optimistic about a market turning are also a good time to mentally prepare for severe disappointment. Not because it's definitely going to bring that disappointment, but because it could. In fact, in order for it not to bring that disappointment, it will need to defy over one year of market history.

Equanimity as an investor is still something I have not mastered after being in financial markets for a good number of years. And it's something you can't really appreciate the importance of until you have made risky decisions and lost big, at least a couple of times.

Understand your motives- is ETH a quick flip for you or a source of volatility for trading? Is it a long term investment for you? Is it something you're ideologically aligned to (as it is for me)? How might these views bias your exposure to ETH as an investment, and could those biases potentially induce catastrophic risk?

Be excited, but be ready for any outcome. Know yourself and take measured risks you can afford to take, but ensure you insulate against catastrophe.
