Daily Headphone Purchase Advice thread

I am a noob who is looking for a pair of earbuds/headphones that do not suck.

Location: USA

Budget: $50 (can go higher if there exists a good option)

What I am looking for: (Portable) Headphones(like the Koss PortaPro, although I worry about its durability) or IEMs that will ideally not fall out of my ear* and preferably have a thing that goes around the ear to secure it like the Skullcandy Chops In-Ear. It should also ideally have a lifetime warranty(not required but preferred) and be basically indestructible ie can survive rain, dropping, them being in my pocket and me falling on them...

Used for: Going to class and back(this includes going in the rain, sleet, snow, sweat... for approx 15 min 1 way), random things for office work (during the summer).

What I listen to: A little bit of everything. More of Rock/Metal/EDM then anything else.

What I previously had: Superlux hd681(recommended by another redditor, for inside use only) Skull candy buds x2 (got first pair in 2011, in 2012 got replacement pair for free), random ones from walmart(6 months if I was lucky)

What I am currently considering: Skullcandy Chops In-Ear(I am leaning towards these), Koss KSC32C Fitclips Headphones, GGMM Hummingbird, Koss PortaPro, MEElectronics Sport-Fi M6, Audio-Technica ATH-ANC23 QuietPoint, as well as a few others

Audio Sources: computer, Galaxy S4(main).

I have looked through the buying guide and felt it left models out as well as did not have information regarding how portable headphones are as well as exact type of earbuds (ear coverage) as well as build quality

*I have tried several things for the standard buds including smaller/larger rubber fittings, aftermarket ones from online(8 years ago) to no avail. Currently I just wrap the wire around my ear and it works well enough.
