Daily Newbie Thread - January 18

I go to a lot of garage sales and markets and I always like to present myself as just a guy buying something for himself, not a reseller/flipper. If I need to check the price on something on my phone, I'll wander away like I'm doing something else, etc. I suppose I worry that if they think I'm a flipper they'll be less happy about selling and that they wont budge on price because they think I know something they don't. I'm just curious now if there's been a thread out there about this, can someone link it? It's a tough thing to search for but I figure maybe a longtime member remembers a link.

I guess my big annoyance about all this is that it'd be great if I just browse eBay on phone while looking at items. Like last weekend, I was at the market, looking at lot of DVDs, all $1 each. It would've been real helpful if every so often I could pull a DVD out and find out for sure if it's worth as much as I suspect. But then if I do that I figure this guy selling the DVDs is gonna see this and know what's up and think I'm a__hole.
