Daily Off-Topic and OOTD - December 27, 2015

I really don't know if I actually HAVE a shopping addiction, or just a great interest in fashion, a good nose for deals, and a poor-to-mediocre amount of discipline. :/

I know I use shopping as a coping mechanism, which is FINE since I dropped almost all of the more destructive ones, but November and December is always a rough time for me. It's Christmas AND my birthday, so it's a lot of overstimulation, really.

But I'm looking back through my email and my paypal now, and...I didn't overdraft (in fact, most items were from my paypal balance from selling things), I worked off of my wishlist, and almost everything was on PROPER sale, not mark-it-up-and-then-mark-it-down psych sale.

I may just be feeling a bit panicky because it IS a lot of stuff all at once, AND we're turning part of my media room into a kitchenette for mom and I, and that was a large furniture purchase. I didn't pay for it, but placing the order still might have made me a bit anxious.

(I'm so looking forward to this kitchenette, it's been an idea of mine for a couple of years. I was hesitating because I didn't really want to give up my media room, but I cannot take ONE MORE MINUTE of the 'discussing' cooking and/or fetching breakfast/lunch/dinner because my mom is too weak to get downstairs to the kitchen. We're going to have good-sized mini fridge, a microwave, a toaster, my tea kettle, and a bookcase as a dedicated pantry. It's going to help SO MUCH. My mom and I decided 2016 is the year we are going to make the house work for US, since we're in it 24/7.)

So I guess I haven't crossed over into shopping addiction YET, but I better do a no-buy in January just to be sure. I should be focusing on redoing my rooms and working on my Dragon Age/Mass Effect cosplay anyway.
