Daily Political Discussion Roundtable - 10/02/2019

Absolutely. The thing about Trump and Republican politicians in general is that their policies will actively cause harm and sometimes that's their only intention, while Bernie's intentions are to use government as an agent for good. I don't think Bernie is a good leader, I doubt he will have much success in the Whitehouse with his "revolution" as a means for getting things done strategy, his most public hires to his 2020 campaign are obsessed Twitter trolls that dox people they don't like, and he/his base played a large roll in how toxic 2016 was both in the primary and the general.

But I don't think he is going to pass legislation to hurt gay people or a woman's right to choose, he isn't going to cut social security, his healthcare plan is focused on covering more Americans and not the other way around, his EPA wouldn't deregulate horrific cancer causing pollutants, and I suspect he won't leverage the state department to work against the goals of his own country. We may question or disagree with his proposals for achieving his goals, but ultimately those of us here (many holding our noses) would vote for Bernie if he somehow won the primary.
