Daily Questions - July 11, 2019

I want to share something with you just as a counterpoint. One of my best friends is Indian, now living in America for the last 4 years. She introduced me to a group of women that she became friendly with and they started teaching me traditional dance and modern Bollywood as well. I went to a few slightly formal events, and they kept offering to let me borrow clothes to wear. I kept saying I felt weird about it but they insisted. Some of them are Indian and some were Indian-American. They also were happy to teach me how to cook traditional Indian dishes and I now regularly cook "curry" of that variety. I felt so incredibly welcome, and it feels important for me to point out that not all of this kind of interest is malicious or bad. Should I have absolutely refused to partake in their culture because I'm very white?
