I already have ARR and Heavensward on my Square-Enix account. I don't have any characters/items on the account that I care about.

I was thinking of coming back to the game, but with the Steam sale going on it seems like it would make much more sense to just buy the complete edition bundle which comes with FFXIV starter edition, 30 days game time, and Shadowbringers for only $24.

The other option is to buy Shadowbringers from the Square store for $40, then pay $15 for a 1 month sub.

It seems like the obvious choice is to just start a new account with the Steam version, but I'm not sure how it works exactly.

From what I understand I can add another (Steam) service account to my already existing Square account. Then I would use the key provided by Steam to activate the starter edition and Shadowbringers in my Steam service account. Is that correct? The Steam version is non-refundable so just want to make sure I'm fully understanding
