I'm not on the ground in NC (yet) because I live abroad but I've been following and volunteered for the NC09 race (my hometown is in the district) and it's unbelievable how much of a shot McCready has right now. Totally anecdotal but it feels a little like when NC flipped blue for Obama in 08.

For reference, I'm based in the most conservative part of the district and I once saw a man spit on a copy of Time magazine because it had Darwin on the cover. My high school only taught us about evolution for one class period (with the constantly repeated caveat that it was "just a theory") with equal time spent discussing creationism. So. Kinda feels like if we can pull it off in NC09, we can pull it off in lots of other places too...
