Daily Simple Questions Thread - June 07, 2020

Hey so I've been wondering about adding protein powder to sort of boost my workouts. Can anyone tell me a little more about the timing of when to drink them? My usual day is waking up at 6:30am, working from 8-4:30, and then doing a workout + shower that finishes up around 9:30pm. Mostly bodyweight plus a bit of dumbbell stuff. Then sleep.

I am seeing a lot of posts about two shakes a day, 1 as soon as you wake up and another one right after your workout.

Also for a little more background I'm pretty skinny with a little too much fat around the midriff. So I'm on a bit of a caloric deficit, but am going to use protein powder to supplement my diet and make sure my body isn't burning muscle along with fat.

Any tips on timing and whether I even need powder is appreciated!
