How should I go around adding some "fullness" to my body? I am currently decently fit with a mix of mainly gym and running for on-off 2 years, with seasonal bouldering, but would wish to get some gains and a fuller physique. So far mostly doing straight strength work, but would like to do a bit more body building (nothing too extreme and I use the term body building hesitantly here, but you get my drift. Look buff etc.)

I suspect one problem is my lack of calories (except when partying on a weekend lol) that makes my recoveries feel sluggish (I'm usually sore for >2 days after a leg day)

Here's a pic of me trying to flex, but I have no idea what I'm doing

Weight, Height, Sex, and Age

176lbs, 6"0', Male, 25

Your Goals (weight loss, muscle gain, etc)

  • Get buff
  • Muscle/mass gain
  • body fat at ~15% so that could also be dropped (but is hard while building mass, right?

Any injuries or disorders that we should know about? (Diabetes, broken ankle, etc)

No

Do you smoke? (If yes, stop. Stop now.)

No

History of diet or exercise (What have you tried? What worked? What didn't?)

I run around 10 miles a week and hit the gym 2-4 times a week, depending on the schedule with a upperbody / lowerbody split

Lift numbers for OHP/Bench/Squat/Dead with rep maxes (if known)

Haven't really done a lot of compounds, squat is the only big lift in my program and I do 130lbs x 8 for 3 sets

Do you have access to a gym?

Yes
