Daily Simple Questions Thread - March 21, 2021

How necessary are low rep back squats for size and strenght? I'm seriously considering dropping them and replacing them with something else. The mental stress from having heavy weight resting on my shoulders. Basically I had some sort of mental breakdown today when I did 5 rep squats. When I do them my brain keeps telling me "DOOOOONT FUCKING DO THIS" while my will says "I have to do this, ignore your feelings". This happens every time, but today my stress got so strong that I suddenly started shouting on top of my lungs while doing the reps. I didn't even conciously decide that I want to shout it just happened. I don't mind smashing my quads with heavy weight though, so I'd still want to train them strong. I just don't know if my brain can handle the emotions from having big weight resting on my shoulders. It just feels so wrong.
