If you're interested in getting to know him outside of the sex, IMO it's worth having a chat about likes/dislikes in the bedroom so he has a chance to correct. He might also have some things that don't turn him on that would be worth noting on your end.

The most fulfilling sex I've had was with a guy who made me physically recoil the first time we made out because he kept shooting his tongue straight into my mouth. I told him to keep it in his mouth until I found it with mine and luckily he got the hint. I was way more forward with talking about sex preferences before we started having it though so the rest of the stuff like dirty talk was hashed out beforehand. I prefer this route instead of getting unpleasantly surprised during the act and dealing with the conflicting thoughts afterwards.

If he ignores anything you told him, then that's a pretty clear signal to move on. But you mentioned he seems to be fine with boundaries so hopefully it's a matter of sorting out physical compatibility.
