Time to realize the facts:
This team has the top salary next year. They aren’t getting new additions outside of swapping deep bench players.
We still haven’t seen what a lineup of Russ, PG, Adams, Roberson, Grant can do. But it’s better than what we had this year. Dame has a hell of a lot harder time draining 3s all series with that added defense.
Billy Donovan is not going anywhere. The frustration is real but you have to see the alternatives. Not only does there need to be a better coach available, but that coach needs to be willing to come to OKC and coach Russ, AND that coach has to be that much better than BD for the Thunder (with a massive payroll) to buyout BDs new extension. Tyronn Lue is going to the Lakers. Mark Jackson is going to Phoenix. That leaves Juwan Howard, Luke Walton, Jason Kidd... any of those inspire a buyout of BD? Hardly.
