To anyone wondering why this has many negative reviews. I just want to put it out there that Tolkien fans, especially ones that grew up and know every aspect of middle earth, don’t want stuff changed. It’s almost disrespectful to a man who made it his life’s work to bring a world unlike any other to those who need escape. To me, it takes away from the story when the women dwarves don’t have beards, because guess what, it’s a huge part of that race! And people not realizing that Galadriel was literally a warrior and the only woman Elf to fight in the big war. She is the mother of Arwen for Pete’s sake. I think if you care about something as deep, you would feel the same way. That being said, I predict it’s gonna end the way cowboy bebop did, with the show not being renewed because they fucked the story up too much and tried to change something that doesn’t need to be changed.

My last point is, when a director states he is going to “make the novel Tolkien never wrote” then it’s probably not going to do well, considering Tolkien did write a novel for it and also spend his whole damn life creating a world and missed nothing. He even created his own damn languages. That shit needs to be respected.
