I'm sick of people saying that Stefan forced Damon to become a vampire. Did Stefan hold him down and poor blood into his mouth? Did Stefan grab him and forcefully make him drink from the girls neck? No and No. Yes, this was probably the only time in the whole show where Stefan was unselfish, but most certainly did not force Damon to become a vampire. Damon was going to die and Stefan didn't want him too and he didn't want to be alone so he encouraged him to drink from the girls neck. Encouraging is totally different from forcing. Damon had a mind of his own, he could of just said no, but he didn't. Stefan also wasn't "a monster". If you remember, his mother was a ripper so that wasn't his fault.
