I really don’t get ragging in Dan for not realizing Metal Gear had inherent political messaging. The story stands on its own without it and it’s absolutely possible to miss it if you aren’t going in to the game looking for it. If politics aren’t a major part of your day to day thought process then you aren’t likely to pick up on those elements either consciously or subconsciously when looking at something that isn’t directly labeled as being political. I also agree with him that “war and nukes are bad” isn’t exactly a bold political statement. I mean on some level sure, but it’s not like that is something you have to be politically minded to agree or disagree with.

I’m all for jumping on Dan when he says something really dumb (pirates) but lately it seems like everyone is looking for opportunities to riff on things he says that aren’t all that weird then continuously talking over him while he tries to explain it. It’s not bad here but on the Beastcast lately it’s just constant.
