I don't know how accurate every detail in my post is, simply because it's a mix of my observation of facts, plus what I've heard from people "in the know", which is always someone else's interpretation. So... fair enough.

And I don't mean to be disrespectful. I do know for a fact they've threatened to ostracize certain black belts for training with other black belts outside the association. I think that is shitty, and personally I think people should know. I'm sure arguments could be made on all sides of it, which is why I tried to word my post fairly carefully. But there are certain lines they've crossed recently that have undermined my "admiration" of them a bit. Which is fine. Idol worship never did anyone any good.

Their jiu jitsu is dope. Unequivocally. But at this point I think it's safe to say they're fairly stingy with it--which is their prerogative--but I think there is plenty of reason to believe they are exhibiting some less-than-flattering "control issues".

I don't expect this to be obvious to everyone; I've just had the (mis)fortune of seeing a few things behind the scenes.
