Dang

I have already made long posts about this, but during the falling action and resolution little character development occurs because it has already happened. We know who these characters are and what they are going to do, so now we are at the point where the consequences from the climax (the meeting with Cersei) are unfolding.

The character development that is happening answers the following: "What is going to happen as a result of Cersei betraying the protagonists?" Could they have spent a long time developing those ideas? They could have and they even spent two episodes developing the pieces for the falling action.

What people also do not realize, is that Daenerys has been making glances, asking questions, and hinting at her actions over the course of this season (and the other ones). It is our job, as the viewer (or the reader) to put those pieces together. On a similar note, we had about as many pieces (at least in the show) to put together that foreshadowing the Red Wedding.

I understand people are disappointed because Anakin "Daenrys" Skywalker suddenly murdered everyone, but the truth is the pieces have always been there. Some people just missed all the Sand People--I mean, non-Knee Benders--that she wanted to kill but stopped because her advisors tempered her attitude.
