Dude it's not a debate, the majority of people think that killing downed players is scummy. The term that universally used is "Cheesing", you don't have to agree with that but you have to accept it.

I don't have to give up something advantageous

Most would argue that there is no advantage, what ever information a downed teammate can give you should be something you're capable of figuring out yourself. I don't need a downed teammate to tell me the guy who boxed himself in is drinking a slurp.

Alternatively I don't need 25% or 50% of my squad wasting time killing players who can't fight back while I have 3 people rushing me.
