Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin... is exactly why I'm glad to be a patient gamer.

From made a DX9 version for the 360.

From ported that DX9 version to the PC.

Therefore, PC got a DX9 version.

Imagine this:

Game company makes game for a hypothetical platform that only supports single player.

They release the same game to PS3, and because it's a port from the other console (without naming it as such, I don't ever recall hearing the word "port" when the pc release happened) it can only support 1 controller, even though the ps3 has 2.

A year later, the 1st platform gets an extra controller support, hurray. And now, you can play it with a friend! All you need to do is buying again, even for ps3!

Do you see what I mean with arbitrary limitations? If it's dx9 because it was a port, then ok? You could just, you know, not make it a port? Perhaps make the best possible product for each particular platform? Or perhaps if you're going to halfass it and sell it as a port, then just drop the price a lot.

Second of all, that's not relevant. From, once again (for, what, the fifth time or so?) is a console shop. Their advertisements and the way the game is made reflects that. Any previews were almost certainly made on console versions (I know for a fact some were), graphics then continued to adapt to what the consoles could handle, and then the port was made from the console to the PC. If you saw a trailer and assumed it was in the PC version and that things would magically stay the same even though graphics change between first ad and release for virtually every game ever, then it's your own fault. Most trailers don't even advertise the PC version!

Sorry at this point I'm pretty convinced that you're payed by From or just extremely fanboy. You literally just blamed false advertisement on a consumer who bought the game.
