I made it clear I may have been over-analyzing and this was just a snippet of their relationship, but given the details provided most adults would conclude this post is from a very young and inexperienced person.

And yes, this could definitely just be a teasing, but "probably never getting the proposal I want" suggests OP takes this seriously. And if the boyfriend is serious then he is plainly a jerk and one of those insufferable type of gamers.
