Darling in the FranXX: What happened?

I can't be the only getting annoyed at people calling this a Trigger anime nonstop, so I'm going to try and educate the few people that actually read this post.

This is not a Trigger anime. Anyone stating this is misinformed. This is mainly A1 which renamed to Cloverworks. Trigger did 6 episodes, A1 did 8 episodes, and Cloverworks did 10 episodes. Trigger stopped working after episode 14. They have helped with foundations for the anime, and only a handful of episodes.

Everyone is mentioning the horrible pacing issues this anime has. It's obvious, and in your face. This is most likely due to having multiple directors, and writers. It was never consistent with the same people. They all just passed around this anime's story back and forth. A common thing when this is done is using time skips. This anime has a fuck ton of them.

The main director is pretty new to sci-fi, and mecha anime as well. He is known for being an animator that works on key art, and storyboards. The only other anime he's directed is https://myanimelist.net/anime/17437/The_iDOLMSTER_Movie__Kagayaki_no_Mukougawa_e

I'm not saying any of this is bad, I'm just trying to explain how too many writers and directors can destroy the flow of a story. Sometimes it's pulled off well, with Darling in the FranXX it wasn't pulled off well.

Having watched this anime since it first aired, it really did feel amateurish. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. I hope the next anime these people work on next is structured better. Darling in th FranXX just felt like a mess.
