Data Points Central Thread - Week of November 22, 2018

No worries. My score ranged from 670-690 from mid-2014 up until last month because I had high utilization (~80%) on my credit cards. I was a full-time student working multiple jobs, but I was still cash poor. Truly the American dream. I’ve been paying down my student loans, and I eliminated nearly all balances on my credit cards about a month ago. The utilization was always the issue. I’ve never missed a payment, and I had years between CC applications up until the CareCredit app in Jan 2017. First CC was in 2007, so length of credit should have been alright. Apologies for not remembering the exact score numbers, but they were all pulled by alternating reports from the big 3 every four months.

I was thinking a velocity issue, too. Good to hear from someone who has a whole lot more experience with this than I do. Thank you for your input.
