I have a boyfriend who is an INFP-T like me. Our relationship is truly wonderful, we have like this sort of connexion between us that I never felt with any other peanut before. Last year, before dating my bf I was in a kind of friendly relationship (friendly++ kind of thing). He was an ESFP, totally different than me, not shy at all and really friendly with everyone. He loved me and I tried dating him for like 3 days before realizing that it will never match between us. That's when I started to believe in all those personality tests and the MBTI personalities. So I think dating someone totally different than you may be hard because they won't see the world the same as you see it.
