Dating in high school is important even if you aren’t looking for a long term relationship.

I'm not sure if this is unpopular but I agree with you OP.

I've never been on a date and I've already graduated from college. I'm as socially awkward as they come. Tried kissing a guy in college for the first time, but only on the neck because I wanted to avoid the mouth so badly... I can't even get comfortable with a hug lol

But, dating has also never been much of a priority for me either, even in HS. I always looked at relationships as a hassle and a distraction from my career path. I still feel that way and worry someone would take advantage of me since now I do have a good career. I also don't think I've ever had a very strong sexual drive either. I just don't see a purpose in dating other than for companionship when I grow older.
