I didn't go to any ivy, but I've heard it said that some view that almost primarily as a way to meet someone who is also 'elite'.

Also, I think a lot of people have sort of a mental checklist of the people the ideal qualities they'd like in a partner but in practice it comes down to how much you click. like pretty much every woman is going to prefer a guy that's over 6 ft, but if they meet a guy that's 5 9 and they have a strong connection it becomes more real than just checking things off of a checklist.
