My opinion on dating someone recently divorced is: Don't.

Blah blah blah already separated, yadda yadda marriage was over a long time, meh meh meh ready to get back out there.

Most of the time the divorce isn't the end of a dying relationship, it's still very much the middle. There's still so much baggage people need to unpack after the papers are signed.

Are there actually people who get divorced and are ready to turn around and have a healthy relationship with a new person? Sure, but they're so few and far between they're basically unicorns and I'm not going to waste my time and emotional energy with someone in 1/1000 chance that they're actually ready for a relationship and not just a lonely impuslive looking to trauma bond with the first person that pays attention to them.

Does that make me cynical? Probably, but I'm a cynic with very little drama in his life.
