Was Datura/ Jimsonweed in my vape?

LET ME PREFACE THIS WITH A WARNING: I bear no responsibility for your actions whatsoever, what you do is entirely up to you. I am not an expert in any field that is related to administering psychedelics (let alone one as dangerous as Datura) in any way, shape or form. My advice should be taken with extreme skepticism.

Be extraordinarily careful, you can die if you take too much, and you can very, very easily take too much. Jimsonweed is very pragmatic when it comes to internal compounds, and there can be huge variances in dosage of both toxic and psychoactive compounds even between petals from the same flower.

The only reason I even bother with it is that it's unique, has a strange and diverse history, and I found the plant growing wild near my house.

While I do own a dry-herb vape (Fury Edge, I love it), I've never tried vaping it because that sounds awful and deadly if you're not the right combination of lucky and careful.

Instead, I usually make a brew with a few flower petals (depends on how much water I use). Then I dilute it further by mixing some of that brew with more water, then I bring it all to boil and add CBD, lavender petals and white tea leaves and/or hibiscus flower petals with some honey or sugar. The idea is that you actually want as little of the active compounds from the Datura as possible, as the less there is the less toxic and deadly it is. With enough experience you can even actually make it a pleasant and therapeutic event, but that experience is paved by potentially horrific trips and the ever-present threat of poisoning and death.

I based this particular recipe off of various old and new (1500s-present) sources that I could find, then did trial and error until I found the right combination that I personally was happy with. Add or subtract whatever you want to improve the experience and calm your mind as you take it. Datura is seriously rough, even very small amounts can trigger a seriously bad and very long-lasting trip.

The first time I did it was absolutely horrifying and completely uniuqe, and in hindsight I definitely took way too much. I should note that I smoked it as opposed to drinking a tea.

I didn't feel like I left my body or went to some new existence. The best way to describe it is like if all those dark thoughts that just pop out of nowhere into your brain on occasion, the kind you have in passing then feel ashamed for even concocting, all of those thoughts simply begin manifesting into auditory and visual hallucinations. And I mean extremely real hallucinations. You are hyper-aware of your surroundings and these surreal hallucinations that are 100% indistinguishable from reality just start coming into your world, then disappear as quickly as they showed up.

Mixing it with things that sooth anxiety and taking a lower dosage of active compounds honestly makes it a more pleasant and perspective-changing experience to be sure.

I usually take it once every 1-2 months, just for that sensation. I'm lucky enough that Datura doesn't have to be my main squeeze, it's certainly an interesting psychedelic that has a strange and seedy history. Just recognize how dangerous it is before you try it, research it as much you can and exercise extreme caution if you're going to vape it.

Sorry about the blog post, by the way.
