This might sound like a really stupid take but also given that Dave is black and proud of his identity really should say enough about whether or not anything he says about a group of people comes from a place of hate. He’s a very very humble comic and I think if you let certain things cut deeper than intended, you make yourself more upset than necessary. Of course there’s a line that shouldn’t be crossed somewhere in there. Sometimes it just feels like people want to apply pressure until they get either a genuine or disingenuous apology so they can move on to the next person. There’s an infinite supply of celebrities to hate because anything they do, any small or large fuckup will be known by everyone and will be gossiped about like high school.
