It's wild to me to think there are people actually out there believing that Star Wars is somehow not going to be an incredibly good long-term investment for Disney.

OK, so let's pretend everything you said is accurate. Even the part with "many many anecdotal evidence", whatever that means. If they just broke even, then aren't they doing incredibly fucking well? Every bit of profit after this will have made it worthwhile. The fact is, they probably haven't anywhere near broken even yet and likely aren't expecting to yet. But I also think that doesn't actually matter. Star Wars as an investment is a sure-fire bet. This shit isn't going anywhere.
