Dave Grohl stops violence at Foo Fighters show

IMO it's partially the culmination of all he had done so far that makes this so much worse. He's far from the first performer to try to get the crowd incredibly riled up (to like the point of serious aggression), but the way he did it was always incredibly irresponsible to say the least. He had a history of asking people to storm towards the front. In one reported case even asking them to get on stage, and while security tried to hold all these fans back he reportedly encouraged fans to get at them. It's no wonder he has a previous conviction for inciting a riot.

Having said all that though: I think some redditors put most of the blame on him while IMO the organizers should be the first on trial. The festival in question, "Astroworld", basically got overrun by crowds late in the morning. There are several videos of hundreds of people just running past the entrance or even climbing the fence. As the venue was already sold out (according to one source they already sold more tickets than they were allowed to already), they should've called it quits right then and there. Or at least like get all the people out, and let people with tickets back in a bit later or something.

Douchebag Travis Scott didn't perform until the evening. Management should've already been very much aware it was overcrowded, yet did nothing. Add Scott's habit of being all like "GET TO THE FRONT" and this tragedy is the result.

IMO: Although Travis Scott is definitely not blameless, I think it's the organizers that bear most of the blame. Even small things like reportedly only having a single stretcher for a crowd of thousands... I suspect that they will be mostly held responsible in the unquestionably upcoming lawsuit.
