Davis Aurini offered to give Jordan Owens "a glowing review" in exchange for $2500.

Jordan Owen and Davis Aurini are GG celebrities who raised a bunch of money for a film whose sole intent is to smear Anita Sarkeesian, accusing her of, among many other things, fraud, because they're convinced she isn't spending her Kickstarter money as she said she would.

They raise a bunch of money on Patreon for said project. Release update videos every month. The quality of the videos is ... think of an adjective below "abysmal" and then think of something below that. There's no lighting to speak of, the sound is awful - including one interview where for several minutes you can't hear anything anyone is saying, the editing looks like it was done by a drunken chimp, it's basically an absolute train wreck. This despite them having raised tens of thousands of dollars.

Despite this, most GG footsoldiers seem to be okay with the progress.

Aurini in particular is a big manosphere guy. PUA, worships RooshV, thinks of himself as God's Gift to Women, despite looking like he's designed his life around emulating Howard from The Big Bang Theory's early seasons, except about 150x as awkward and creepy. Basically, take every characteristic in a human that might make you want to punch them in the face on sight, spray them with a firehose, and then wash yourself with lye to make sure none of him rubbed off on you. Then triple what you were expecting. The self-description on his blog reads:

There's nothing like a good Rye-Whisky to dull the pain of staring at the ugliness of this world. Sometimes it's almost more than a man can bear, but someone's gotta dig down into the rotten, hateful core. I'm a writer, goddamnit, and that's my job.

Really, that tells you pretty much all you have to know about how seriously the man takes himself. Oh yeah, he considers himself a Race Realist (i.e. foaming-at-the-mouth racist) and has gone on record saying he has no problem with White Nationalism "On Paper" (insert more quotation marks for maximum mitigation). Needless to say his politics are about as vile as they come, and he has ... woman issues. One of his more infamous Youtube Pontifications has him spitting that women in this day in age have become the most "decadent sluts since the fall of Rome". It's about as prototypical a NiceGuy(tm) rant as you'll find.

That's all without mentioning the fact that every time he films himself (which is often), he has a fake plastic skull in the background. Because that makes him deep. Or ironic. Or iconic. Or ... something. Basically anything other than a mega-creepizoid.

Owen, in contrast, is an edgelordy guy with anger issues and a penchance for filming massive, rambling, hour-long YouTube videos that consist of him pontificating to the camera in a variety of bizarre and weirdly-honest ways. One video he did, no kidding, from his bathtub. And he talks about what porn he likes. So there's that. He's creepily obsessed with Anita Sarkeesian, loves Ayn Rand, and has what appears to be a massive collection of belts.

Of the two, Aurini considers himself the alpha, and as they were working together on their film project it's pretty clear Aurini bullied the everloving shit out of Owen, probably not doing any great things to his already-likely-fragile self-esteem.

Owen, to his credit, rejects the manosphere bullshit and posted a remarkably lucid video where he accurately deconstructs the PUA snake-oil for what it is, noted the bullying tactics that they use to deal with any criticism, and the circular logic with which it supports itself. Aurini flipped his shit and let Roosh know that Owen was saying bad things about him, telling him to "have at him." Owen was displeased. Owen (technically the "producer" of the movie) took it upon himself to fire Aurini (technically the "director") as they're entering what apparently passes for post-production.

Aurini's response was perfectly rational: to blackmail Owen for half the remaining Patreon funds to "keep quiet" about all the dirt he apparently has on Owen and the nature of their falling out. Owen refused, so Aurini has come out swinging with all his (kind of sad) might, saying Owen "obviously" has a great many psychological disorders I'm pretty certain he's not quite qualified to diagnose, and in general creating a lot of drama. All after insisting that he's not doing anything of the sort. Aurini was even the one who released the Skype logs where he clearly attempted to blackmail Owen for half the remaining money. He sees it differently, but he's, well, Aurini. Drama is ongoing. Owen is taking a short break from the Internet. GG appears to be mostly coming down in support of Aurini, because they're, well, GG, and they'll always side with the thing that's more vile.

TL;DR: in attempting to uncover an instance of unethical behavior, a pair of GG celebrities wind up engaging in it.
