Day 18: What thought or opinion from MJ you don’t agree with?

He was never malicious about it, just comments here and there that I found to be slightly inappropriate.

For instace, at 5:15 (https://youtu.be/k7WP4prIwUQ) he goes "They called me a freak, a homosexual, a child molester." and when when I heard it I was like "Damn, Mike. Why'd you put gay and molester in the same category of bad things the press had called you in the past?"

He also sued one of his producers because he found out that the guy used to work in the gay porn industry or something. (https://youtu.be/JMYXmCkm47E).

As a person who identifies as something other than straight, I found it disheartening that Michael Jackson was such a big humanitarian, giving a voice to the ostracized, standing up for what's right, for equality, for freedom, for justice, and yet he never stood up for the lgbt+ community the same way he did for other groups of people who were being discriminated against.

Then again, he's human and he already had enough on his plate with the allegations that were being made against him. Imagine being openly gay or bi, or supporting the community in a time where gay people were being sent to conversion therapy, or shot, or married to women just to keep up with the appearances and lived unhappy lives.

That's why I believe he had nothing against gay people and it was all circumstantial. His open support would've meant a lot to the community though. I hope I made myself clear lol
