Day 28 - to contact or not to contact?

My experience was concerning a friend but, it got really toxic really fast. He acted all nice and charming at first and we were "best friends" for a while. But he ended up being the craziest I ever met in my life.

He told me when I met him that he had an IQ over 200 points! I didn't really believe him, but he was nice and we got along so well I didn't press the issue. Then little things started popping up. He didn't like to talk about real-life people that accomplished things. He only would want to talk about fictional characters. He was extremely jealous of real people.

Then came the insults toward women. (I'm female). And he hated his mother. And "women weren't funny". I know I'm not that funny, I never really tried. But what was this issue coming from all the sudden?

Then he talked about "his followers" (lol?). and that he had over 200 friends. All the sudden I wasn't "good enough" to be his friend (follower) anymore.

So shocked I was, that I tried to e-mail him for weeks to get him to come to reason. I hate friendships coming to an end, even one as crazy as this one was hard to let go of.

One day, he finally wrote back. And it was scathing. But I needed that. It woke me up and I haven't wanted to bother him since. And then I realized something.....I was much happier without him in my life.

Do not contact this person. You'll be happier if you don't :).

TL;DR : had a friend in my life that ended up completely nuts. All the sudden wanted nothing to do with me. Tried to get friendship back, but when he finally responded, it was very angrily done. He was just an en extremely narcissistic person and a jerk. It woke me up! Much happier and much less stressed out without him in my life. Use no contact for your sanity!
