The day Corsair won

Are you a Corsair employee? You use the term "we" very liberally, thus I will assume so. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light-emitting_diode#Lifetime_and_failure Would lead one to believe that the average lifespan of an LED would be 25,000 hours on the low side. No matter how I do the math I can't make 2 years fit in that scope.

But it is comforting (if you are in fact affiliated with Corsair) to see that you DO in fact anticipate and expect your products LEDs to fail after that 2 year point. Engineer for failure, hands down.

But comparing this to an incandescent light build with a finite lifespan of 1,000 or less hours is vastly different from an SMD LED. But considering the quality of LEDs in this use case (at your own admission). I would appear they may be in line with lifespan and quality.

And lastly, it would appear you fall in line with Corsair and their diligence to pay attention to their consumer base. As in my original post I state the color shift occurred a month ago, and I lived with it. It wasn't until the keys started to fail, stick or not register keypresses that it became an issue I sought support for.

I'm not sure how any of your statements have made anything better, you openly admit the product is expected to fail in a years time or shortly after. And you completely disregarded the context of my explanation.

Heck, even with that all said. I'm not afraid of a little DIY and repair myself, my Razer Naga MMO I 've had for 7-8 years... The microswitches for left and right failed. To be expected right? they have a finite amount of clicks. I was able to locate them online, order and replace the microswitches. Easy peasy.

But I also understood the duration I had the product, what I expected to get out of it the lifespan of the components.

Now that I have an official Corsair employee (as you convey) informing me their product will more than likely fail after 2 years. That only solidifies my concerns, and emboldens me to share this information further.

Corsair - Engineered to fail.
