I'm not paid by dollar shave club so I can tell everyone that $10 can get you a pack of 100 blades for a DE Safety razor. Never buy blades again, online or in a store. Buying a DE is to Dollar Shave what Dollar Shave is to regular disposables. If you're going to make the switch, switch to the cool looking much cheaper option.
And no, DE's aren't any more dangerous, the razor exposure is probably actually lesser than a disposable, if you cut yourself you're an idiot. Also the single blade has been proven more effective, and the muliblade razors are a gimmick, as seen in this SNL Skit making fun of 3 blade razors as if it were a ridiculous impossibility, and this Onion article that came out shortly before 5 bladed razors were really a thing.
