Day one with our baby veiled and he's found his glass. I had the dripper drip into it to get his attention. This is my only win of day 1. I am completely overwhelmed. I wasn't expecting him to be so small. I don't have enough foliage in his cage.

Dex, due to the size and the fact that it's still winter.

A tub will be much better for it than a screen cage. (not everyone lives in a humid state like you)

The tub will hold in humidity and heat better far better than a screen cage will. Those are intended for adult animals that can handle the water loss... this little one's skin already looks dry in some of the images.

also /u/jojo316 you should get rid of the small jar and get a shotglass somewhere, they're inexpensive ($1.00) and will prevent your cham form falling in and not being able to get out. Also if there's a chance of this happening, I've taken a twig off of a manzanita branch (natural red are 100% safe) and put it in there so it's got an easy way to grab something and pull itself out.

Also get rid of the bird ladder... for the money, I'd trade anything like that for a single manzanita branch .. they're far superior.

Last thing, with the tub you can keep a layer of paper towels "moist" and flat on the bottom of the tub, let your feeder insects go and the young cham will hunt for them. That's a lot better than a cup or bowl which makes them lazy.

Also the humidity will be high at the bottom as well as warm where the heat source strikes the walls. It makes for a nice variable environment.

you'll be far better off this way for the next month or so while this one grows into the early sub adult phase.
