Days Gone Director Encourages Fans to Sign Petition for Sequel

I'll preface this by saying I enjoyed Days Gone, but there seems to be some serious re-writing of history going on around this game lately.

When it released it was almost universally seen as average, even putting aside the bugs, Deacon is as generic a character as you can get, the most interesting game mechanic was the hordes which outside of a few story missions were almost exclusively end game content, and most people were already pretty burned out by Zombie games. I just don't understand where the massive backlash is coming from when for so long it was seen as just an ok game.

It sucks it might not be getting a sequel, but with how much this is being talked about you'd think it was God of War or Horizon that got rejected. The pitch for the sequel also had some form of multiplayer shoehorned in, which isn't the best way to follow up a single player story driven experience. I don't see this as as much of a big deal as people are making it out to be.
